About the Event
Professor Chris Whitton from the University of Cambridge will host the lecture. His specialist studies include Latin literature from the early Roman Empire, focusing on writers like Pliny the Younger and Tacitus. His main interests include prose style, how texts relate to each other, and how literature connects with history.
The lecture will focus on prominent women in the Roman world and literature, as presented by authors such as Vergil and Tacitus, and on their silent influence on the Ancient World stage.
