IMAG invite pupils and parents to an evening with Professor Mullan (UCL) whose lecture which will champion the skills that studying English at post-16 level and beyond can develop in young people. This free lecture is mainly aimed at students and parents, Y8-13 but all are welcome.

About the Event

The English Departments of the Royal Grammar School Guildford and Tormead School would like to invite you to an evening lecture with Professor John Mullan, the Lord Northcliffe Chair of Modern English Literature and the Head of the Department of English Language and Literature at University College London (UCL).

 

Professor Mullan’s distinguished career has seen him teach at the University of Cambridge, Queen Mary University of London, and since 1994, UCL. He has also been a contributing writer for The Guardian and The London Review of Books, as well as presenting various shows for the BBC and judging the Booker Prize. His publications for general readership include How Novels Work and The Artful Dickens: The Tricks and Ploys of the Great Novelist.
