Reaching for the Stars
A free event aimed at Y9 and Y10 girls. Dr Aderin-Pocock (BBC's 'The Sky at Night') shares her story to encourage girls to consider STEM career paths and in particular to consider studying Physics at A-Level.

About the Event
This lecture is being delivered by Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock of Imperial College London. Dr Aderin-Pocock is a space scientist, science communicator and presenter of the BBC’s The Sky at Night. She completed a PhD in the Department of Mechanical Engineering in 1994, after an undergraduate degree in Physics also at Imperial. She is Managing Director of Science Innovation Ltd, through which she organises public engagement activities which show school children and adults the wonders of space. Dr Aderin-Pocock is passionate about increasing the number of girls who consider STEM A-Levels and careers and by sharing her story and experiences seeks to excite and show girls the huge contribution they can make in these fields.
