About the Event

Earth Sciences is the study of the internal and surface processes that shape the Earth, and other planets in our solar system. It is a broad and interdisciplinary subject that includes elements of maths, physics, chemistry, biology, geography and geology.

Dr Emma Passmore has been teaching Earth Sciences at Imperial College London for 10 years. Her research focussed on volcanoes, mineralogy and fieldwork, and even included time in Hawaii monitoring an active volcano! Emma will share her experiences of studying and teaching Earth Sciences, and give an introduction to Earth Science and Engineering at Imperial College London. The session will finish by exploring the career options offered by an Earth Sciences degree, followed by a question and answer session.
